Another bus strike threatens to cause chaos for Hackney commuters this Friday
More misery looms for Hackney's bus commuters this Friday when a 24-hour strike will disrupt four services.
Drivers based at Ash Grove Bus Depot off Mare Street are dissatisfied with the 2.25 per cent pay increase offered by social enterprise Hackney Community Transport (HCT).
Out of the 150 workers balloted at HCT, 41 were in favour of strike action out of the 50 who returned their votes.
The industrial action comes hot on the heels of walkouts at the East London Bus and Coach Company earlier this month.
It is being called by the Unite trade union, which warns London's public transport could soon be hit by a significant wave of strikes.
Friday's walkout will affect four routes - the 394 from Angel Islington to Homerton Hospital, the 153 from Finsbury Park to Liverpool Street, the 388 from Hackney Wick to Embankment and the W13 from Woodford Wells to Leytonstone,.
