Well known comedy club night Live At The Chapel has been championing the best in comedy for nearly a decade now.

This month’s Live on April 1 is bringing two of Ireland’s most-loved comedians and one of Canada’s, hosted by London-local Ed Gamble.

Coming to fame as Father Dougal McGuire in Father Ted, Ardal O’Hanlon has starred in My Hero and appeared in Doctor Who, all the while performing stand up around the world. A previous winner of the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year award in 1994, he went on to Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

Joining O’Hanlon to headline is Canadian Stewart Francis – known best for his sharp one liners, Francis has made multiple appearances on Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

The final act on the bill is Irish comedian and actor Aisling Bea who last year became 8 Out of 10 Cats’ first ever female team captain. The multi award-winning comic has risen quickly in the ranks after being nominated for Edinburgh Festival’s best newcomer in 2013 and winning Best Female TV Comedian the following year.

Compering the night will be Ed Gamble, who is currently touring with his own stand up show, coming to Hackney’s The People’s Park Tavern on April 20 and Kings Place in July.

Live At The Chapel at the Union Chapel, Compton Terrace, London N1 2UN.

Tickets, £20 from liveatthechapel.com
