As well as apple themed entertainment, the cider village will let you sample a variety of home-grown ciders

How d’you like them apples? The first Great British Apple Festival will take place on August 12 and 13 in Shoreditch Park.

From noon until 8 each day, there will be live music from Monroe Ferrari, Elsa Chapman, Robbie Boyd, Sam First and Joncan Kavlakoglu.

There’s a hog roast, BBQ and the farmer’s market will be serving up street food and market treats from the likes of The Parson’s Nose butchers, Mac To The Future for delicious mac’n’cheese, The Rolling Duck’s confit duck rolls and the Chimney Cake Bros with their cylindrical Hungarian cakes stuffed full with pastrami, or mozzarella or something sweeter: ice cream and nutella.

But it’s the apples you really want: as well as apple themed entertainment, the cider village will let you sample a variety of home-grown ciders.

For more info: gbaf.co.uk. Tickets are £10 in advance and £12 on the door. Children under 12 go for free.
