QPR and West Ham target Nikica Jelavic is more likely to be joining Liverpool according to the player’s father.

The Hammers offered £6million for the Croatian last week, but Philip Jelavic says the Rangers striker could make a move to the north west.

“We know about the interest of West Ham and QPR. But Nikica has five or six clubs that are interested, including that of the great Liverpool,” he said.

“As for West Ham and QPR, Nikica is more ambitious than that.

“It’s most likely that he’ll sign for Liverpool.

“But there are a few days until the end of the window, so we’ll see.”

West Ham are desperate to bring in a striker and Jelavic is their latest target after missing out on Jordan Rhodes.

“Jelavic is one of many others because we have been made aware by other sources that he might be available,” boss Sam Allardyce said.

“We have made bids to bring people in — but have not managed it yet.”

Jelavic has struck 17 times this season and has 30 league goals in 41 starts for Rangers since moving from Rapid Vienna in August 2010.
