Tottenham new boy Clint Dempsey believes that Spurs should be playing Champions League football.
The north Londoners finished fourth last term, a spot that would usually give the club a place in the Champions League qualifying round, but were denied a place in Europe’s elite competition after sixth-placed Chelsea lifted the trophy.
“To be fair, ¬Tottenham ¬deserve to be in the Champions League,” the American insisted.
“They finished fourth, but missed out on a technicality ¬because Chelsea won it.
“[But] we are still playing some of the best teams in Europe.”
Arsenal Ladies manager Shelley Kerr says the competition is improving all the times as the Gunners prepare for Sunday’s FA Women’s Cup Final.
