West Ham transfer news: Hammers agree deal with Mohamed Diame
West Ham have agreed a deal with free agent Mohamed Diame.
The 25-year-old will join the Hammers on July 1 when his contract with Wigan expires.
Diame is the third summer signing after the east Londoners completed deals for goalkeepers Stephen Henderson and Jussi Jaaskelainen.
“His potential is really good and he’s ready to go and compete in the first team straight away as he’s had three years in the Premier League already,” said West Ham boss Sam Allardyce.
“He’s 25 and can only get better and I hope he can go on to prove that to me and all of the West Ham United fans. He will be a very exciting addition to the squad.”
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has revealed on-loan Liverpool striker Andy Carroll and Hammers skipper Kevin Nolan were forced out of Newcastle and never wanted to leave the club.
