Everyone is invited on a free walk this Friday to learn more about the borough’s oldest surviving theatre, the Hackney Empire, and Hackney luminaries, some with mental health difficulties, buried in St John’s churchyard, along with other notable landmarks.

Funded by the National Lottery, the CoolTan Arts Community Legacy Walks aim to help people meet new friends and get healthier.

This week’s walk lasts about three and a half hours and participants will meet at 12 noon outside Hackney Museum in Reading Lane, and will end at Hackney Wick station.
