A man has been charged with the murder of a one-year-old boy and the attempted murder of a girl of the same age after a “domestic incident” in Finsbury Park.

Bidhya Sagar Das, 33, of Wilberforce Road, will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today.

Police were called to Wilberforce Road at 11.10pm on Saturday night and found the children critically injured.

The boy died in the early hours of Sunday morning and the girl is in critical condition. A post-mortem is due to take place today.

Murder detectives led by Det Ch Insp Dave Whellams are still investigating and the road is still taped off as of this morning.
