A gun was fired near the Woodberry Down estate on Friday night after a car crash.

Police, who were called at 11.30pm, say a man was parked up in Woodberry Grove when a dark coloured car coming from Rowley Gardens smashed into his vehicle.

The man in the parked car then followed the other car as it was driven off, until a passenger got out and fired a shot into the air.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made but armed police were seen on the estate throughout Saturday.
