Damien Douglas, 23, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with the murder of 21-year-old Kemar Duhaney.

Douglas, a Jamaican national, from Ballance Road, Homerton, allegedly attacked Mr Duhaney after finding him half-naked in his former partner’s bedroom.

The victim, from Bruce Grove, Tottenham, was found collapsed not far from the house in Buxhall Crescent, Hackney Wick, at 11.47am on Wednesday July 11.

He had a stab wound to his chest and underwent open heart surgery at the scene.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he died at 5.30pm.

Douglas appeared in court for a bail decision but his legal team made no application.

He was remanded in custody by Judge Charles Wide QC until a plea and case management hearing on October 12.
