A murder investigation is underway after a man was stabbed on Homerton High Street.

Police were called shortly after 5.10pm following reports of a stabbing at the junction with Kenworthy Road.

The man, thought to be in his teens, was taken to the Royal London Hospital by the London Ambulance Service with stab wounds and died at 6.30pm.

A spokesman said: “Extensive efforts were made to resuscitate a man who was stabbed on Kenworthy Road, yesterday afternoon before he was taken to hospital where he later died.
