Three teenage girls were this afternoon being held by police over an unlicensed street party in Stamford Hill on Tuesday night that saw police pelted with missiles.

The girls – two aged 17 and one aged 18 – were arrested today on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police and partygoers clashed in the street around Malvern House on the Stamford Hill estate after officers confiscated a generator. Some ravers said the event had initially been peaceful and criticised the police for stoking tensions.

Others told the Gazette they felt sorry for the police.

Video later showed a group of cops being pelted with what were apparently bottles and bits of furniture. A handful of officers suffered minor injuries that didn’t require hospital treatment.

It came just three days after a similar event in Millfields Park that left neighbours up in arms over loud music that continued into the night.

Officers have vowed to track down those responsible for the unrest in Stamford Hill, which came on the same day as a party in Hyde Park and a water fight in Harlesden turned nasty.

They are appealing for anyone who photographed or filmed the party to send them in.

The Met’s Cmdr Nick Downing said: “We have a number of specialist officers who are reviewing hours of CCTV footage and whilst we are still in the early stages of the investigation they have been able to identify key individuals who are believed to have taken part in the disorder in some way or form.

“As the investigation continues we are still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with any information about any of the incidents across London on the night of July 19.”

Police want anyone who can help to call 020 8785 8244.
