A man is wanted by police for threatening a car passenger with a knife and then chasing the vehicle wielding a machete while in heavy traffic near Hackney Central.
The suspect was cycling alongside a car where an 18 year old victim was travelling with his father when he suddenly became aggressive and started lunging at the boy through the car window.
The suspect, described as a six foot black male between 25 and 29 wearing a white vest, blue jeans and white trainers, then discarded the bike, jumped in a grey Vauxhall Corsa and followed the victim’s car.
When they hit heavy traffic, the suspect got out again and chased the other car down the road carrying a machete.
The suspect nearly caught up with his victims on Morning Lane between Hackney Central and Homerton but the traffic began to move and they got away unharmed.
