Footage has captured the moment an alleged burglar yanked a cash till and a laptop from their sockets at a Shoreditch beauty shop before casually strolling away.

Police were called at about 8.20am on January 23 about a burglary at the shop in Redchurch Street. CCTV footage released by Scotland Yard on Tuesday showed a man pulling items from a desk before carrying them away.

Detectives believe the shop window was smashed with a tin of paint.

They now want to trace a white man in his mid-20s who was seen wearing a blue hooded top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference number 203004 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
