Curtis Benson, 37, burst into the victim’s house and asked her to snort cocaine off his genitals before launching the attack in Dalston on August 8.

After the attack, the father-of-four from Shreveport House, New Orleans Walk, Hornsey Rise, warned her: “Don’t even f**king bother calling the police about this.”

Prosecutor Michelle Fawcett told Snaresbrook Crown Court the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, suffered cuts, bruises and soreness, and has been left psychologically scarred.

She continued: “She told him to go but in response he grabbed her, pushed her up against the kitchen work surface and, taking her by her hips, lifted her up and forced her legs apart. She was hysterical, extremely scared and shaking.”

He told her she was ‘lucky’, and that he could have turned up with five other men before he left.

Benson, who was arrested on the day of the attack, initially claimed they had consensual sex but later admitted raping her.

Piers Mostyn, defending, said Benson was drunk at the time of the attack and behaved in a way he now “deeply regrets”.

The court heard he has a string of previous convictions dating back to 1989, including robbery, possessing firearms and Class A drugs and, most recently, harassing his former wife. Sentencing, Judge Nigel Peters said: “Rape is, and will always will be, considered one of the most serious offences which the crown courts have to deal with.

“This is an offence of violence, domination and the effect on this victim was immense.”

Benson was handed six years in prison with an extended three-year licence period.
