The Hackney Weekend has become a mud bath overnight, and wellies have become an essential festival fashion-item on the festival’s second and final day.
Many pop-lovers donned wellies with shorts on the Radio 1 festival’s opening day yesterday.
But boots were not really necessary, as the ground remained dry with just a splutter of rain as Jay Z’s set began at 10pm.
But heavy rain over night has created muddy puddles and slippery stages as Plan B discovered to his peril earlier, as he slipped several times.
However the strange weather meant crowds are alternating between rain jackets and umbrellas and sun hats and glasses – and back again.
