A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car near Finsbury Park station.

Police and medics were called to Seven Sisters Road at about 3.50pm and treated the injured pedestrian, believed to be in his 20s.

He has now been taken to hospital by air ambulance and Scotland Yard said he is thought to be in critical condition.

Police have taped off the road in both directions while they investigate and have warned people to avoid the area. Buses are also on diversion.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made.
