A 12-year-old from Stamford Hill was dubbed the rising young star of television.

Max Kohanzad was about to star as the founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, in a Channel 4 film.

When the Gazette caught up with him 30 years ago, he had just returned from a five-day film shoot for television drama London’s Burning in which he played a young street kid.

Max, who lived in Castlewood Road, first grew to love acting while a pupil at Simon Marks School in Cazenove Road, Stoke Newington. He went on to take drama lessons at the Anna Scher Children’s Theatre where he was talent spotted.

His mum Josie told the Gazette: “He’s always enjoyed being the centre of attention. He’s quite a little extrovert.”

The Gazette understands Max later trained to be a Rabbi and now delivers life coaching sessions in Manchester.
