The man stabbed to death at a house party in Old Street on New Year’s Day has been named by police as Steve Frank Narvaez-Jara.

Three men have now been arrested on suspicion of his murder.

Mr Narvaez-Jara and another 20-year-old were found suffering stab wounds by police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) after they were called to a flat in Bartholomew Court on New Years Day at 2.35am.

Mr Narvaez-Jara from south London was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.26am.

A post mortem examination at Whittington Hospital carried out on Wednesday gave a preliminary cause of death as incised wounds to his chest.

"Someone has taken away our only beautiful son and brother without thinking about the pain and sadness that it has caused our family and friends, especially his two-year-old sister and two older sisters aged 15 and 16"

In a statement the family of Mr Narvaez-Jara said they are “praying to God that Steve’s death brings knife crime to and end.”

“Someone has taken away our only beautiful son and brother without thinking about the pain and sadness that it has caused our family and friends, especially his two-year-old sister and two older sisters aged 15 and 16,” they added.

“They all loved him unconditionally.

The second victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A 19-year-old man was arrested last night at an address in east London on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody at an east London police station.

An 18-year-old youth was arrested in Hackney yesterday morning on suspicion of murder and is also remains in custody.

A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday night and has been bailed to later this month.

Det Ch Inspe Packer from the Met’s murder squad who is leading the investigation said: “I am appealing to anyone who attended the party to come forward and speak to police,

“I need to trace everyone who was present as they may be witnesses to this violent attack.”
