A top-of-the-range sports car worth £170,000 was seized by police on Thursday after colliding with a cyclist.

The MacLaren MP4 roadster, which has a top speed of almost 210mph, was involved in an incident with a push bike in Old Street, near the Junction of Mallow Street, Shoreditch, just before 12noon.

The cyclist, 41-year-old man, was taken to a north London hospital with minor injuries.

No arrests have been made, but the vehicle was seized by police because the driver - a 63-year-old man - wasn’t insured to drive.

The MacLaren MP4 can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 3.1 seconds and boasts a 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 engine which produces 592 brake horse power.
