Other categories included Best old Timer, Best Rescue, Waggiest Tail and Best Looking Girl and Boy, at the event which promotes responsible pet ownership and preventative health.

The judges, Caroline Allen, clinical director of Canonbury Vets which sponsors the show, dog trainer Kim Stoklasa and Sarah Henderson of the Shoreditch Trust were looking at the health, behaviour, relationship with the owner and the dogs’ overall appearance.

Caroline said the event was great fun, but had a serious message.

“Owning a dog is a great privilege and requires time and effort to ensure the dogs are keep healthy, happy and well trained,” she said.

“All too often these days we hear about the negative aspects associated with dogs, this was a great celebration of the positives.”

The show was part of the Shoreditch Festival which runs until July 22.
