Lawrence Okolie slammed his fifth quick victory in an unbeaten six fight career at Cardiff on Saturday and made a plea for tougher opposition.

The former University of East London student opened the show that featured Anthony Joshua’s win over Carlos Takam.

Okolie halted Manchester’s Adam Williams in three rounds, but wants to throw his punches against more highly ranked cruiserweights.

“I am rated around 15th in this country and I would take on anyone up to ten places above me,” said the big punching prospect, who boxed at the Rio Olympic Games last year.

The one-time student at Stratford’s UEL campus looks for his seventh bout on the December 17 Matchroom bill at London’s 02 Arena.

“I would like to box on the 02 show and then I will definitely be looking to move into title status next year,” said the 24-year-old Okolie.

He was pleased to finish his latest rival with a left hook after his right hand punching flattened his first four rivals inside the first round before a points win in his last bout.

Williams, who had won and lost in his two contests earlier this year, adopted survival tactics in the first two rounds, but left the opening for the short left hook that sent him crashing in the third.

He made an attempt to beat the count, but was stumbling and the towel came in from Williams’ corner as the referee signalled the end.

Peacock gym power punchers cruiserweight Anthony Yarde and heavyweight Daniel Dubois return to Stratford’s Copper Box Arena for the December 9 Frank Warren promotion.

The unbeaten prospects, based at the Canning Town gym, appear on the December show featuring world champions James Degale and Lee Selby.

Yarde will take on Nikola Sjekloca looking to build on his last outing when he forced the referee to stop his bout with Norbert Nemesapati in the third round back on September 16.

Dubois, meanwhile, will face Dorian Darch on December 9 at the Copper Box aiming to record his sixth straight victory in the professional ranks.
