I love my new adopted home in London, but Brighton still feels like home too – so I’m really looking forward to our next game against Sussex.

My old team are going well in all competitions – there’s no doubt they’re a decent side, and I’m sure that winning feeling is at the forefront of all their minds.

They’ve had a change of captain recently, with Michael Yardy handing over to Ed Joyce and, although Yards is a very respected captain, it’s probably a good move.

He’s had his trials and tribulations over the last couple of years and cricket is often about keeping your own house in order, then the team will achieve. It’s not all that unlike Dex’s situation with us.

Talking of Dex, it was good to see him getting back to his old self against Warwickshire – he’s bouncing around the changing-room a bit more again and that knock in the second innings will have done him the world of good.

Dawid Malan really came into his own with a hundred in the first innings – he hasn’t been out of form but he hadn’t been making the big scores – and Joe Denly also did well with 95.

It’d be wrong to overlook the fact that I dropped a couple of catches on the second day, but we fought back well and to bowl Warwickshire out for 324 was a great effort.

I was pleased to get some overs in at the end of the game – I felt I got a decent rhythm going, but I’m pretty certain that if the batsmen had tried to attack me I’d have got more wickets.

From talking to the Worcestershire players at Uxbridge on Sunday, it sounded as though they got bombarded by the seamers on a relaid wicket when they played at Sussex last week.

But I’ve been waiting a long time for a pitch that spins, so hopefully we’ll get the usual low, slow Hove wicket, I can get a few poles and head down to the beach to celebrate a Middlesex win!
