Essex Senior League: Barkingside 3 (Cookey 66, 72, 90) Hackney Wick 0

Substitute Tony Cookey came off the bench to net a second-half hat-trick for Barkingside in their 3-0 win at home to Hackney Wick in the Essex Senior League.

After coming on early in the second half, Cookey netted three times in the closing 25 minutes to secure all three points for Side.

Following a goalless first half at Cricklefield Stadium, the forward was introduced to the action in the 56th minute and scored his first 10 minutes later.

Cookey was at the double in the 72nd minute to extend Side’s lead and put them on course for a first win in five matches in all competitions.

In stoppage time, Cookey added gloss to the win when netting his third to cap a fine success for Barkingside, who are next in league action at Enfield on Saturday.

Wick, meanwhile, will hope to avoid a third league defeat in succession when they host Old Spotted Dog landlords Clapton on Saturday.

Barkingside: Bottone, Jones (Ogboin 56), Kelly, Lesta (Cookey 56), Little, Mitchell-Brown, Newbold, Gayer, Sherwood (Fontaine 62), Taylor-Reid.

Hackney: Adomah (Figueroa 64), Camara, Ugochukwu, Gaweda, Idemudia, Kasanga, Mpalampa, Nicholson (Diop 57), Pietrzyk, Ramires (Histrov 64), Sidibe.
