Clapton bounced back from FA Vase heartbreak to seal a 3-2 victory against Woodford Town in a drama drenched match.

The Tons moved up to fourth in the Essex Senior League after managing to pick up three points despite going down to nine men in the match at the Harlow Arena.

Town also had a man sent off but both sides pressed hard and still managed to find the net.

The host’s goals came from Jack Grovesnor and Malaki Toussaint during the match.

Ryan Reed scored a long range free-kick to provide the visitors with one of their three goals in the match.

Manager Jonny Fowell tweeted after the match: “Three away games and one home game in 10 days says a lot about this bunch of boys and three games back no sending’s off lol, not that I’ve deserved them to be fair.

“This is a real honest lot who are doing so well hope we can keep it up.”

Clapton will face Barkingside at Cricklefield Stadium on Friday night.

Their next opponents Barkingside suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Essex last night to leave them without a win in the Essex Senior League after six matches.
