Clapton made it six straight league wins as they bruised past Southend Manor with a 2-0 victory.

The Tons moved up to fourth in the Essex Senior League table after securing another three points thanks to goals from Aundre Spencer and Jeffrey Cobblah at the Old Spotted Dog.

While neighbours Tower Hamlets crashed out of the Errington Challenge Cup with a 3-2 defeat in the third round to Great Wakering Rovers.

Rovers got off to a strong start with Aaron Russell scoring inside the opening twenty minutes before Hamlets James Ross equalised twenty minutes later to make it 1-1.

Billy Johnson made it 2-1 to the hosts early in the second-half but the visitors once again pegged them back as Ezekiel Kamson levelled it after 68 minutes.

Rovers Jay Nash scored late on to seal the Rovers progress in the cup competition and sent the Mile End based club packing.

Clapton will travel away to Hullbridge Sports on Saturday while Tower Hamlets will host Burnham Ramblers.
