The Brisbane Road club will be without Alex Lawless this weekend, but Joe Widdowson is available while new signing James Brophy is eligible to play

Justin Edinburgh admitted Leyton Orient could have had an easier tie in the third round of the FA Trophy, but he remains confident they can reach the quarter-finals at the weekend.

Dover Athletic host the O’s at the Crabble Athletic Ground in what is arguably the clash of the round with the two National League clubs going head-to-head in Kent.

The winner of the tie may well go on to claim silverware in the final at Wembley on May 20, but first things first, a potentially very close tie awaits on Saturday.

Edinburgh, when asked about how tough it will be at Dover, replied: “I always say it doesn’t matter who you play in cup competitions.

“I always want a home draw, but to get to the final you have to beat whoever is put in front of you. It could have been easier, but it is the cup and you have to take what you can get.”

Orient will be without Alex Lawless for the trip to Dover after he received his 10th booking of the campaign last Saturday during the 3-2 home defeat to Aldershot Town.

The experienced midfielder will serve a two-match suspension and completed the first game of his ban at Halifax Town on Tuesday.

Edinburgh’s men visited the Shaymen on January 20, but the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch and the two club’s quickly arranged for it to be played this week with O’s triumphing 2-1 after goals from Macauley Bonne and Josh Koroma.

Orient will have Joe Widdowson back on Saturday after his two-game suspension following his second red card of the season.

George Elokobi had to play at left-back last weekend, but Widdowson could earn a recall at Dover.

The Brisbane Road club will take a break from league action for a week, but the good form of Solihull Moors, who have not lost in the division since December 26, has seen them move up to 21st and put pressure on the likes of Barrow, Halifax, O’s and Hartlepool United.

But Edinburgh said: “We can only concentrate on what we can effect. It is about us making sure we are concentrated on performances which gain us results which move us into a position we need to be.

“The position we are in isn’t the place we should be, but we have no divine right and it doesn’t matter what the size of your club is, it is about us making sure performances merit the points we need to take us where we want to go.”
