Justin Edinburgh will be forced to make changes to his Leyton Orient team for tonight’s FA Trophy quarter-final replay at Gateshead.

The O’s will be without Dan Holman and Sam Ling, who both started Saturday’s 1-0 loss at National League play-off hopefuls Dover Athletic, because they are cup-tied.

Marvin Ekpiteta made his debut off the bench at the Crabble Athletic Ground, but is also ineligible to feature as is recent recruit Nathan Mavila.

Edinburgh will be boosted by the return of Dan Happe after he suffered food poisoning last week and he will replace Ling with Joe Widdowson returning to left-back after filling in at centre back on Saturday.

James Brophy is also over his recent bout of illness and should replace Lamar Reynolds on the left while Matt Harrold and David Mooney will be vying to partner Macauley Bonne in attack.

Although Harrold started the previous meeting between the clubs on February 24, where Orient chucked away a three-goal lead to draw 3-3, Mooney may be preferred given his encouraging partnership with Bonne earlier in the season.

But the likes of George Elokobi (hamstring/illness) and Jobi McAnuff (neck/shoulder) look set to miss out again having not featured at Dover on Saturday.

After being in control of the first game, the O’s will be desperate to book their place in the last-four of the competition tonight.

While Orient are taking on Gateshead, National League rivals Bromley will be in action at Spennymoor Town, of the National League North, and the winner of that tie will face either Edinburgh’s men or the Heed in the FA Trophy semi-finals.

The four clubs will all be hoping to qualify for the last-four of the tournament and an exciting and equally tense evening could be in store for all of them.
