Liam Kelly returns from suspension to hand O’s timely boost

After a difficult week, Leyton Orient boss Danny Webb is handed a huge boost ahead of today’s clash with Doncaster Rovers, as vice-captain Liam Kelly is available again.

The 27-year-old midfielder was handed a six-match suspension by the Football Association after pushing a ball boy at Plymouth Argyle on February 14.

Before the incident, Kelly had already missed four months of the season after suffering a torn hamstring in October.

When O’s vice-captain briefly returned, he helped the east Londoners draw at Yeovil Town before winning at Plymouth.

Orient have sorely missed his presence in recent weeks and it is expected he will go straight into the starting XI today.

Webb is sweating on the fitness of experienced defenders Callum Kennedy (groin) and Nicky Hunt (knee).

Kennedy has been struggling for a month now, but will again look to play through the pain this afternoon.

Hunt, meanwhile, suffered a knee problem at Accrington Stanley and was forced off, which coincided with O’s losing 5-0.

Sam Dalby was also replaced on Tuesday night with an ankle problem, though should be fit to play some part today.

Webb has a decision to make over his goalkeeper this afternoon with Charlie Grainger having a tough night at Accrington.

Sam Sargeant could potentially earn a recall having not featured since the 4-1 loss at Stevenage on February 28.

Orient will be without top goalscorer Paul McCallum, however, as he is currently out due to a dislocated fibula.

Defender Yvan Erichot remains on the sidelines with a groin issue while Sammy Moore has an ongoing knee problem.

Meanwhile O’s captain Robbie Weir continues to recover from anterior cruciate ligament damage to his knee.
