West Ham United will look to maintain their recent Premier League resurgence when they host Newcastle United on Saturday.

Last weekend, the Hammers cruised to a 3-0 win after the electricity was restored at Stoke City, though David Moyes’ men did lose 1-0 at Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Leyton Orient are another side who appear to be on the up and head over the Dartford Crossing to face Maidstone United in the National League on Saturday.

The O’s did enough to get past Haringey Borough of the Bostik North in the FA Trophy last weekend, surely to the relief of manager Justin Edinburgh.

Dagenham & Redbridge will want a return to winning ways on Saturday when entertaining Eastleigh in the league.

John Still’s side exited the FA Trophy last weekend after a shock loss at Hereford, with the Daggers boss criticising skipper Scott Doe in his post-match comments.

There’s also the small matter of an upcoming derby double-header between Daggers and Orient in the league over the festive period.

All this, plus the latest non-league news, including Jerry Jairette’s departure from Clapton and the Romford/Hornchurch derby on December 27, is discussed on this week’s festive East London Football Podcast.
