Striker struggled in first season at White Hart lane, but will hope for more chances during the 2017/18 campaign

It has been a good week for Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen who has scored twice for the Netherlands in international friendlies.

The 22-year-old netted for his country in a 2-1 win over Morocco in Agadir last Wednesday (May 31).

Janssen then scored again in the Netherlands 5-0 success over Ivory Coast on Sunday in Rotterdam.

The Tottenham striker played 77 minutes at the weekend and 73 in the victory against Morocco.

Janssen’s performances offer encouragement for Spurs supporters after the Dutch ace struggled last season.

He only scored six times for Tottenham in all competitions, although showed flashes of his potential in the final two months of the campaign.

Looking ahead to next season, Janssen will hope to feature more regularly and could do with Spurs hoping to go further in the Champions League.

The Netherlands forward will look to continue his impressive form on Friday in his country’s important FIFA World Cup Group A qualifier at home to Luxembourg.

Oranje sit fourth after five games, three points behind Sweden in second, ahead of the qualifier later this week.

Hugo Lloris created history last week when he became France’s most-capped goalkeeper after being selected to start against Paraguay.

Spurs’ captain skippered his country at the Stade de la Route de Lorient and helped them win 5-0.

Moussa Sissoko was on target for Les Bleus, as Lloris earned his 88th cap, which took him past ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Fabian Barthez.

Belgium duo Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen played their part on Monday, as Roberto Martinez’s team claimed a 2-1 friendly win over Czech Republic.

Christian Eriksen is set to represent Denmark tonight (Tuesday) in their home friendly with Germany.

Spurs forward Heung-min Son is also in the South Korea squad to face Iraq tomorrow (Wednesday) in Dubai.
