Harrow-born Richard Hounslow will compete in two canoe slalom events at the Lee Valley White Water Centre during this summer’s Olympics.

As well as chasing glory in the men’s K1 category, Hounslow will team up with David Florence in the C2 team event.

Hounslow, 31, won K1 gold at the 2009 European Championships and silver at the World Championships and partnered Florence to team gold in this year’s European event.

He said: “David came to me and offered me the doubling up. Initially it was a challenge, but we have been training and working hard.”
