London Lions have confirmed that Londoner, Abraham Ekperuoh, will start his first full season as a professional when he suits up this term.

The six foot five inch athlete joined the Lions late last season before playing in 11 games which lead to him averaging 3.4 points per game whilst shooting 54 per cent from the floor.

And a season high 16 points and six rebounds against Leeds Force came on his birthday.

The 25-year-old was a late bloomer, joining the Brixton Topcats aged 16, and a further two years at County Upper led to two years at Junior College in the USA where he played for Dawson Community College, graduating in 2014.

Two seasons in National League Division One at Westminster Warriors produced an average of 12 points and five rebounds per game.

Lions boss Vince Macaulay said: “There’s a nice vibe right now about the club, building through last season and now as we look to start a new season, Abraham was part of that last term bringing a really positive outlook to things.

“On the floor he is very good physically, he has adapted to the rigours of professional play very well and I expect him to push on this year.”

Abraham added: “I’m excited to be back officially with the Lions, I want to work hard at all times and continue to improve my game.”

Abraham’s signing makes it seven returnees so far, plus new boys, Jordan Spencer, Ladarius Tabb and Kervin Bristol.

Fans will get to see the team for the first time at the Essex Classic at Brentwood Leisure Centre on September 8-9 and tickets can be booked at leopardsbasketball.co.uk with promo code LIONS20 for a 20 per cent discount.

The BBL season tips off at the Copper Box on September 21 when the Glasgow Rocks are the visitors.
