As part of their 70th anniversary celebrations the NHS are taking on the Royal Navy in a friendly hockey match at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Thursday, June 28.

NHS Improvement and NHS England are using the celebrations to promote the NHS workforce prioritising good health and wellbeing, both mentally and physically.

The match is a mixed matched with national representation of male and female NHS Employees.

Karen Swinson, from NHS improvement is the organiser of the event and a keen hockey player herself, said: “Encouraging our workforce to take care of themselves is one of the focus areas of the 70th celebrations and never has it been more important to keep our workforce fit and active.

“This match will be a mixed men and ladies hockey team with a representation of NHS players who play International and National Hockey and the venue, given the forthcoming Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup, where England will be playing is a great stage for this event.”
