Queen of Hoxton announce plans for Parisian-themed rooftop

The Curtain Road venue’s rooftop becomes a den of debauchery and excess for the cooler months with the launch of Lady Celeste’s
With the changing of the seasons comes a fresh new theme on Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop, where their autumn/winter edition indulges its patrons in the excess of Paris in the 1900s.
Lady Celeste’s rooftop bar will be a drinking den brimming with both style and substance – as velvet drapes, cabaret tables and romantic lighting combine to create the look of a bohemian music hall on the backstreets of Montmartre.
The Curtain Road venue has worked with Fables Collective – specialists in creating hand-crafted stages and installations – to piece together a dramatic space designed to counter those dull, drizzly winter evenings.
With an absinthe bar on the rooftop itself, you’ll find toasty cocktails on offer inside the venue’s beloved Wigwam.
Highlights among the drinks list include the Hot Buttered Tarte Tatin Rum – with its caramel, apple and cinnamon flavours – and the Sloe French 75, a blend of gin, lemon, sloe berries and sparkling wine served in a flute.
Such a heady mix of boozy treats will need a strong food menu in support, and Lady Celeste’s will also offer a handy array of charcuterie and raclette.
You’ll be able to feast on Henri Toulouse Burgers (a grilled Toulouse sausage patty in a brioche bun with onions and gruyere cheese), mustard-washed toasted sandwiches and vegan-friendly patties in the form of the Moulin Ruse Burger.
Lady Celeste’s – which is free to enter and open daily until 10pm – is to launch on Thursday October 25 and will remain in full flow until April 2019.
Aside from being perfectly suited to catch-ups with mates or after-work drinks, Queen of Hoxton have curated an intriguing schedule of immersive events.
Surrealist life-drawing is planned for November 18, there will be French feasts in collaboration with traders from Borough Market, and an intimate night of drinks and conversation with some of the stars of London’s cabaret scene on November 4.
