20 firefighters tackle eight-storey flat blaze in De Beauvoir

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters are currently attending a fire at a block of flats on Southgate Road in Dalston.

The fire is affecting a block of flats of eight floors and part of a four roomed flat on the fourth floor is alight.

Firefighters from Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel and Euston fire stations are at the scene.

The Brigade was called at 10:52am. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
