An eclectic mix of progressive rock and pop music is coming to The Space this June to enchant fans of the prog genre and embrace new listeners.

Anglo-French duo Tim Hunter and Thierry Sportouche, who make up the band Silver Hunter, will be showcasing their latest music.

The band’s name, which combines Tim’s surname with the half of the name of Thierry’s other band, Silver Lining, reflects the musical style of the performers who explore the boundaries between progressive rock and pop.

The two met through prog-rock magazine Acid Dragon and became inspired by one another’s influences.

Tim said: “When reading the magazine I could see Thierry was into the same music as me and an expert in progressive rock.

“I think we will be playing an eclectic mix of music to suit everybody and The Space is a really good venue to hold it in as prog rock is quite theatrical.

“It always tells a story. In that sense, it’s very in tune with the set. I am also hoping the lighting can be used to good effect. The audience will find we create a really good atmosphere and any profits go to The Space, which is a registered charity.”

The performance is on June 25, starting at 8pm. Tickets cost from £8 to £10. To book, go to space.org.uk.
