An eco-home, a school, a church and a nature reserve are just some of the contenders for a Hackney design award that will be chosen by the public.
Everyone is being invited to vote for their favourite building or space in the Hackney Design Awards People’s Choice category.
Hackney Council received 50 nominations, and an expert judging panel has narrowed the list down to the 16 based on the “quality of design and contribution made to the surrounding area”.
The entry with the most votes by October 17 will be announced as the winner.
The award scheme was launched in 2004 with the aim of encouraging people to celebrate design and architecture in the borough.
Here are details of all 16 entries – and what the council says about them.
