The major pub chain that owns The London Fields wants to reopen it under a different name.
On Thursday councillors will decide on Punch Taverns’ licensing application for the Mare Street boozer, which has been empty since the end of July.
Punch, which owns more than 3,000 pubs across the country, wants to rename it Martello Hall, but standing in its way are neighbours, who have complained about past late-night noise issues at the venue.
