Comedians Josie Long and Felicity Ward are performing alongside a 75-strong all-Lips women choir for a festive, feel-good, end of year extravaganza.
The audience will be encouraged to sing-along to medleys of pop classics and dance anthems at the upbeat, dance-in-the-aisles-inspiring event in the atmospheric St-John-at-Hackney church, and there will also be poetry read by members of Refugee Women’s Forum.
Profits from ticket sales and the bar will be donated towards supporting the work of Women Asylum Seekers Together London, which speaks up for women who find themselves in vulnerable situations, feeling isolated, traumatised, in ill health, facing destitution, homelessness, and deportation.
There will also be hot food, a bar, games, a photo booth and an opportunity to vote in the inaugural Lips Woman of the Year Award.
Tickets for the event at 7.45pm on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December cost £13.50, or £8.00 concessions. See wegottickets.com/LipsChoir.
