Music, magnificent costumes and dancing filled the borough’s streets when the Hackney One Carnival returned on Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds of performers from carnival and community groups snaked through the Hackney streets, celebrating the different cultures and creativity which thrive in Hackney.
The procession left Ridley Road and worked its way south along Queensbridge Road and Richmond Road towards the Town Hall, before heading up the newly-pedestrianised Narrow Way, and back to its starting point via Dalston Lane.
Gillett Square saw live entertainment with loud African drumming beats from Open the Gate, the Hackney Colliery Band and a gathering of all costumed carnival performers until late into the evening.
