A young Hackney carer met women soccer legends at Wembley on Monday, for the launch of the FA’s brand new women’s football league.
Football-mad Eda Sevim, who plays football for Woodberry Down Community Primary School, brushed up her soccer skills and played a match with the new Women’s Super League (WSL) players and England coach Hope Powell.
The nine-year old carer attends Hackney Young Carers in Ashwin Street run by children’s charity Action for Children - which has been chosen as an official charity partner to The FA and The WSL.
The nine-year old said: “I can’t believe I played football at Wembley with the best women footballers in England.
“It’s really exciting and hopefully one day I will be playing in it every week.”
Hackney Young Carers provides support and advocacy to children who help look after a member of the family who is sick, disabled, who has mental health problems or a substance misuse problem.
