Two cultures came together to celebrate the lives of two famous Bobs in Dalston this weekend.
Revellers raised their glasses to Scots poet Robbie Burns and legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter Bob Marley at the annual 2Bob event on Saturday evening (February 5).
The night, which included a fundraising auction, marked Burns Night on January 25 and Marley’s birthday on February 6.
Guests at Anda de Bridge bar in Kingsland Road tucked into a feast of either haggis, neeps and tatties or ackee and saltfish with rice and peas, and danced to live music ranging from reggae to rock.
They raised a total of about 1,500 for Hoxton charity the King Bee Music Academy, based in Bridport Place.
Organiser Steve Clarke said: “I was a fabulous night and a roaring success.
“It was the usual chaotic Scottish-Jamaican fusion, with lots of colourful characters.
“We got fantastic support from everyone - more than we anticipated.”
