Just about every restaurant in London is gearing up for  Valentine's Day but only The National Gallery can offer one of the world's best art collections too.

Ochre, the modern British restaurant at the Trafalgar Square landmark, is celebrating February 14 with the 'Love Conquers All' package of food, drink and art.

Following a self-guided tour of five specially selected paintings designed to evoke romantic feelings, lovebirds can sit down to a welcome cocktail and a three course dinner.

Priced at £65 per person, options include Jersey rock oysters, chicken schnitzel with Westcombe cheddar sauce, Ochre's signature tarte tatin to share, or raspberry souffle with chocolate ice cream.

Tour details are under wraps but could include the gallery's best loved painting Jan van Eyck's 1434 masterpiece The Arnolfini Portrait of a couple holding hands.

If that doesn't get your heart pumping then Ochre is launching a £55 per head Chocolate Afternoon Tea from February 12.

Inspired by Jean-Etienne Liotard’s 18th Century painting The Lavergne Family Breakfast - on show at The National Gallery until March 3 - The Laverne Chocolate Afternoon Tea is a beautifully designed confection of sandwiches, chocolate scones and cakes, which draws on details in the painting of an elegantly dressed woman savouring luxurious coffee and chocolate.
