A new dating app has launched in London, which matches people based on their favourite food.

DineMe connects fellow foodies who are on the hunt for like-minded partners.

The app is soon to roll out across the UK and eventually aims to reach an even wider audience.

DineMe offers a fresh perspective on dating.

It allows users to match with prospective dates, as well as explore new culinary experiences together.

The app offers date possibilities like dining at the newest restaurant in town, tasting the finest steak around or simply sharing a wine and dine evening.

Convenience is key - DineMe gets rid of the need to decide on the perfect first date location.

Once users create their profile, they have the option to plan a 'dine' where they can suggest their preferred time, date, cuisine, and even conversation topics.

Who pays the bill can also be determined beforehand, removing any awkwardness.

The app will display users' profiles, including three photos, age, distance, interests, and a short bio.

This will help daters in their search for compatible connections.

The co-founders of DineMe said: "The dating scene can feel very much the same and often a match doesn’t result in a date, but just a bit of conversation that goes nowhere.

"Or, if you do match and agree to meet up, you might find that you don’t like the same things or have similar interests."

"DineMe was created with that problem in mind, and through the app we have allowed couples to meet and connect over their favourite dishes and love of food and interests.

"From coffee to curry, steak to sushi and Italian to Indonesian dishes, there’s a match for everyone’s tastes, now is the perfect time to download, meet, and eat!"

The DineMe app is available on The App Store and Google Play now.
