A man has been seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in west Norfolk last night.

He was hit by a blue Renual Megane Scenic in Wisbech Road in West Walton at about 9.30pm yesterday.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene. 

While emergency services attended the incident road closures were put in place from Wisbech Road to West Walton, but these have since been lifted. 

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries. 

A man in his 30s was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop and having no insurance. 

He was taken to Kings Lynn police station where he remains for questioning. 

Those living in Wisbech Road are being asked to check CCTV and doorbell cameras and send any information that may help with the investigation to Norfolk police quoting the crime reference number NC-04052024-497.
