A converted Hackney garage - roughly the size of four parking spaces - has been listed on Zoopla for £500k.

The owner of the one-bedroom property, formerly a garage, had initially put it up for sale at £525,000 but has now reduced the asking price.

The 545-square-foot home went viral in October when TikTok user Charlotte Moran stumbled across it, initially mistaking it for the neighbouring three-bedroom house.

This sparked ridicule from many users on social media, with some pointing out the high price and others criticising the inflated London property market.

Located on Kenninghall Road, near Clapton station, the small property features one bedroom, a bathroom, a combined kitchen and dining area, and a small garden.

Winkworth estate agents, in the Zoopla listing, describe it as a "beautifully renovated" property that is "both functional and aesthetically pleasing."

However, some residents have expressed their doubts about the high asking price.

Resident George Papanastasiou believes the owner is trying to capitalise on Clapton's increasing popularity.

He said: "The landlord was trying to capitalise on this.

"It happens with lots of properties in this part of Hackney."

The property was converted from a garage in 2004 after planning permission was granted by Hackney Council, but plans to build an extra floor level were rejected in July this year.

The estate agent's description of the property on Zoopla highlights its open-plan living space and kitchen, which they say has a "modern contemporary finish throughout".

The listing also praises the "abundance of natural light" in the double bedroom and the "enchanting" outdoor space.

The property also benefits from off-street parking and is located between Rectory Road and Clapton stations.
