A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after her car was involved in a crash with a bus in Hackney.
Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a crash in Lea Bridge Road close to the junction with Clapton Road just before 7am this morning (February 8).
There were reports that a car and a bus had collided in the road.
The woman driving the car was rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service for treatment. She remains in a critical condition.
A police spokesperson said that there were no reports of any other injuries.
Lea Bridge Road is currently shut off to traffic between Chatsworth Road and Lower Clapton Road, while police enquiries continue.
This has forced the detour of bus routes 55, 56, and 308.
