A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found stabbed after a gas explosion in Stoke Newington.
Stoke Newington Church Street had been closed this morning (June 17) after a gas explosion at a home on Dumont Road at 4.51am.
Police were called to the scene to reports of someone trapped inside an address.
A woman, 46, was found inside the property with stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital with slash wounds where he currently remains.
His condition is not life-changing or life-threatening.
Two children, seven and nine, have also been taken to hospital as a precaution but are not believed to have been inside during the time of the explosion.
