A classic children's book and a work by one of Spain's greatest writers will be brought to the stage in Hackney.
Tower Theatre has revealed its 2025 autumn season, which includes a variety of shows covering themes of friendship, survival, identity, and more.
The season kicks off with Girls, a play by Theresa Ikoko, running from Tuesday, September 30, to Saturday, October 5.
Originally premiered at HighTide Festival and Soho Theatre in 2016, the play explores the lives of three kidnapped teenagers who find strength in one another, highlighting themes of female empowerment, trauma, and resilience.
Next in the line-up is Black Men Walking, by Testament, which will be staged from Tuesday, October 7, to Saturday, October 11.
This poetic and political piece, inspired by a real-life walking group, delves into Black British identity.
It tells the story of three men hiking in the Peak District and the way their journey reshapes their perspective.

The Secret Garden, adapted by Elizabeth Newman from Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic, will be presented from Wednesday, October 22, to Saturday, November 1.
This family-friendly production uses puppetry, music, and movement to bring the beloved story of Mary Lennox and the long-lost garden at Misselthwaite Manor to life.
Federico García Lorca's Blood Wedding, translated by former poet laureate Ted Hughes, will be staged from Wednesday, November 5, to Saturday, November 15.
Set in 1920s rural Spain, this poetic tragedy explores themes of forbidden love, family honour, and fate.
The season continues with Festen (The Celebration), adapted by David Eldridge from the 1998 film by Thomas Vinterberg, Mogens Rukov, and Bo Hr. Hansen.
Running from Wednesday, November 19, to Saturday, November 29, it turns a birthday party into a psychological reckoning as family secrets are revealed.
Finally, the season wraps up with the musical Christmas pantomime adventure Rapunzel, by Phillip Meeks, running from Wednesday, December 10, to Saturday, December 20.
This interactive show features pop hits and classic pantomime comedy and magic.
